You Are The Sole Owner Of What You Put Into Your Mouth

We are bombarded with pictures and ads promoting wafer thin models in the latest fashion, and many people, young and old, feel pressured to starve themselves in an effort to lose weight.

First of all, each human body is genetically different, and some of us will never be wafer thin, It is important to appreciate your inner self just as much if not more than your outer self, for what you feel inside is what the world sees outside, that is, your personality will preempt your physical personna. That being said, if you wish to lose weight, here's some food for thought.

a) Watch what you eat. Instead of Hamburgers and fries, opt for salad and fish instead, or similar. Let fried foods or fast foods be a monthly treat instead of a daily treat. Let desserts be an occasional treat, opt instead for yogurt and fresh fruit. ('ve mixed probiotic yogurts with fresh berries and chopped mangoes, and sprinked 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger for a delicious dessert.) Reduce your caffeine intake; sugar and cream; - try tea with lemon instead. Drink more water - FYI tap water is reportedly more healty than bottled water. (A recent study in the news indicated there is more bacteria in bottled water than tap water.) You'll not only be helping your waistline, but also your intestines.

b) Exercise as much as you can in simple ways. Many people don't have the time for a regular exercise program - here are some suggestions. Start your day with some simple stretches, do pushups whenever you can (remember to keep your stomach pulled in and breathe); this is a great exercise for overall toning. Take the stairs when you can, park farther away and walk. Jog in place for 3 minutes. You don't necessarily have to exercise non-stop for an hour to reap health benefits, 10 minutes three times a day will give you results.

c) Smoking and excessive alcohol not only is bad for your health - it also causes wrinkles - avoid them both. Stay away from inhaling cigarette smoke, - 2nd hand smoke is more dangerous and can cause cancer.

Remember - you are the sole owner of what you put into your mouth, and how you maintain your body. Following the above will also save you money - on healthcare, clothes, food. Eating healthy is actually less expensive than junk food!

Whatever you do, take good care of your body, after all, it is "Preciously Yours" alone.
