As the
publisher of femail.ca, I could not be more overjoyed to include "Widow
Recovery" content on this site. Having lost my father + best friend at the
age of 21 was life changing; it was heartwrenching; it was devastating. My
wonderful mother, as fine a lady as you could ever want to know, the kind you
read about in wonderful stories and beautiful fairy tales, was a wreck both
emotionally and physically. I would without avail, hear her cry each and every
single night without exception, and it grew as a pit within my stomach -- but
my pain was nothing in comparison to what my mother was going though. How could
she cope? How could she get through each day and feel whole again? My heart was
breaking for this brilliant, wonderful woman, who lost her partner and her best
friend in as tragic, and horrific circumstance as one could ever imagine. It
was a nightmare that would not ever end. The struggles would never end. In
time, the healing process begins, but the tragic loss seems just as raw to this
day as it was 23 years ago. My mother is the kindest human being I have ever
met. She is a living angel who deserved none of this. To this day, I continue
to look to her for guidance and passion. She is remarkable. This area of
femail.ca is for her. We all have the opportunity to make a positive difference
in our lives, leaving a permanent footprint on the hearts of others. If any
content writers that author articles in this section have the ability to reach,
console or help any other woman deal with the horror of losing their husband,
then my job is done. Understanding, coping and caring is what I hope will
prevail in this area of the website. My father was a noble man. I remember with
esteem, the affection and guidance of this kind and remarkable man. My dad. I
will do my utmost to uphold his noble heritage. Long live his legacy.
